The Play is the Thing!

Saw two amazing plays this weekend with Harry Potter in the middle. It was like an arts sandwich!

Cloud Tectonics- Transcend space and time...a deluge in LA...a war veteran named Nelson...and awesome love story well acted and very well received by this theatre goer.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire- Oh teenage angst. Oh Cedric Diggory! Oh no! Voldermort's back in this "best of the series" film. Dark, funny, much more human than the rest. Isn't it strange...even if you know how it ends you are still suprised...

Purgatorio- Seattle Rep didn't dissapoint me this time. A stark white room, a man and a woman dealing with the shit they did on earth, to each other and to themselves. Oh Medea! Oh Jason! I am astonished by the stamina of these 2 actors...makes you think...maybe a bit too much but we all need that sometimes.

Now it's turkey time. Time flies when you are watching make believe.

To crash? Or not to crash...

Wedding Crashers is the must see flick of the summer. Plenty of cliches, sterotypes, boobs, champagne...and Vince f'n Vaughn. All 6 foot 5 inches of his ridiculously fast talking luciousness. Oh...I guess Owen Wilson, with the most crooked facial feature to ever grace a Hollywood leading man, has a few choice moments as well.

Over 2400 walkers participated in the 3 Day Breast Cancer walk here in Seattle. They raised a total of 6.5 million dollars and a few blisters on their big toes. Only a few noteworthy crashes...

Lance Armstrong did it...he really showed those French! Well those 2 very old frenchmen that still believe that only a frenchman should wear the maillot jaune. Crash alert! As Lance was rounding a corner during the last stage his Team Discovery mates had fallen prey to the wet streets. He managed to sneak by the heap -o-cyclists sans crash.

My undying love for Dave Chapelle

Dave...where are you? Why have you not filmed more episodes of your fucking hilarious show? Did you have a nervous breakdown? Are you recovering from trans-gender surgery? Are you in an exclusive rehab facility in South Africa? Wherever you are....please come back to me....

Why is the world being taken over by motha f'n yuppies?

The answer to that is they breed faster than the average human. They are genetically predetermined to have an Audi, Volvo or BMW SUV that must prey on my neighborhood...and soon yours. I was cornered by a wild pack of them earlier this evening while attempting to get back into my building...I didn't stand a chance with their multi-purpose baby strollers and blackberries prized to attacke mode. I have thought long and hard about what their main weakness is...What is their Achillies heel? I have leads but no real strong contenders. Any thoughts on how to end this take over?

Boxing....sport of strong stomachs...

Million Dollar Baby...such an inspiring movie....then whammo! Serious ethical dilemma...
White trash mixed with a boxer named Danger who wants to fight someone who has been dead for 5 years...

It validated my opinion that Morgan Freeman IS the greatest living american actor!

Super Volcano...my ass...

I watched a very well funded Discovery Channel/ BBC presentation of SUPER VOLCANO this past weekend. Superb visual effects combined with mediocre acting made this a tasty evening treat for those of us obssesed with volcanoes and their destructive emotional behaviour. Here is the true info on what could happen if Yellowstone National Park blew the freak up...http://www.unmuseum.org/supervol.htm

In other movie news...IMAX f'n ROCKS but to those who get a little motion sick....beware!
